Request POST2

The Software Release Office will not process requests if steps 1 – 3 have not been completed.

  1. You must first submit a software request letter. It is important that you submit the request letter on company letterhead. Step 2 is required if you are NOT US Gov’t or Military and step 3 is required for all requests. Government email requests for POST2 are acceptable; however, companies must submit their request using company letterhead.

  1. If you are not US Government or US Military, you must have an active grant or contract with the US Government. Your US Government Contracting Officer (CO), the Contracting’s Technical Representative (COTR) for the contract or Point of Contact (PoC) for the Grant must provide a letter containing your active contract or grant and your need for POST2 to support the contract/grant.

  1. Per NASA policy, a Software Usage Agreement (SUA) will be required and signed by someone with signature authority for the company. The Signature Authority is someone who can legally bind the company; ie: Contracting/Administrative Officer, Attorney, Senior Management, President/CEO). Military or Gov’t requests can be signed by a civil servant (preferably a supervisor). Please fill out the contact information document so we will have the information needed to draft an agreement (see Contact info section below). You may email your completed requests (steps 1-3) to (larc-sra@mail.nasa.gov) or fax it to 757-864-6500.
  1. Once the request letter, support letter (if applicable), and contact info document have been received, the Software Releasing Authority (SRA) will perform a background check. After successfully passing the check, the SRA will contact you and provide you with the Software Usage Agreement. To check the status of your POST2 request, please contact the Software Release Office. NOTE: The Software Release Office will not process requests if steps 1 – 3 have not been completed.
  1. Upon completion of the software usage agreement, you will be contacted to verify the Operating System(s) on which you will be executing POST2. You will then receive a link to where you can download your specific files and a separate email detailing information needed to unpack the software.
